What are you looking for when you select speakers?
TED and TEDx are about providing a platform for “ideas worth spreading.” We are looking for engaging speakers who have experiences, ideas and stories to share.
How long is a typical TEDx talk?
TEDx is the place to condense your ideas into a 8-12 minute talk. We’ve found that a concise, carefully prepared talk can have an astonishing impact. Some of the most compelling talks are as short as 3 minutes.
Do you have keynotes or panels?
No. There are no breakout sessions, tracks, keynotes, or panels. Everyone at TEDx hears every presentation.
Are TEDx speakers paid?
TEDx does not pay speakers. Speakers receive complimentary tickets for themselves and one guest. Most speakers stay for the whole event. Other benefits include pre-conference speaker coaching and training, and a web archive of the whole event.
An additional benefit of speaking at TEDx is that your presentation may become a TED Talk, part of the beautifully produced, broadcast-quality video series. Not all talks given on the TEDx stage will become online TED Talks, but we hope most do.
Can I speak at TEDx by becoming a sponsor?
No. Sponsoring TEDxJacksonCollege has many benefits, but the ability to speak during our event is not one of them. More information about sponsorships for the 2025 event will be available soon.
Is there a nomination process?
No. TEDxJacksonCollege does not provide a nomination process. All interested parties should fully complete and submit an application for themselves.
When will speakers be announced?
Speakers are announced by Dec. 2, 2025.
Will there be training?
Yes. Before you step onto the red circle, you will receive hands-on training led by more than a dozen Jackson College professors and professionals. Through a series of workshops and coaching sessions, you will refine your idea, strengthen your stage presence, and learn the art of powerful storytelling. Our team will support you every step of the way to help you share your message with clarity, confidence, and impact.
